GASPAR NARBY SIRENS

London-based Swiss producer Gaspar Narby has dropped a new collection of his alternative electronic tracks via Radicalis. The name of the EP, Transatlantic, was inspired by the long-distance relationship with his girlfriend, who resides in New York City, which unfortunately ended in a break-up. As well as navigating the complexities of the breakdown of a relationship stretched over thousands of miles, Narby also delves into other personal experiences, such as the time that he was nearly involved in a frontal collision car accident with his friend, who was driving at the time. The after effects of this event meant that is Narby’s dreams, the crash always happened, as you’ll hear in EP track ‘Sirens’. The authenticity of this comes through in the original cassette demo which the artist weaves into the gently bobbing rhythm, dreamy vocal effects, and warm acoustic strings. - Hannah Thacker   [Photo credit: Jurrga]
